I'm three weeks in, and would love to read about those 1 point treats! I'm a vegetarian who eats no meat, fowl, fish, or eggs so my choices are somewhat limited. But, it's still going alright, sometimes not having all those choices can benefit me greatly.

I just heard of an amazing motivator idea and want to share with as many fellow WW'ers as I can! I just sent a message and photo (with weight, measurements, goals, etc.) to Time Netsule's Internet time capsule (www.timenetsule.com) and set it to notify me in one year! I'm thinking that, if you can make one year, you're well on your way to making it a long term lifestyle change!!

Sounds like you may need to find a new Doctor. I can't imagine that something isn't wrong somwhere - maybe hormones, polycystic ovaries? May I ask how old you are? Are you taking any medication that could be contributing? I am not a doctor but have had lots of health problems as well as struggled with weight all my life.....you really need to find a doctor who will listen to you and who realizes what you are trying to accomplish. So many doctors have such a large patient load that they don't take the time to listen to their patients......maybe a doctor who specializes in women's health could help....but definately find someone who will listen to you.

Great site! I don't know how I've missed you this passed year. I also have a community for WW'ers. Check it out and let me know what you think!

i have been on and off ww over the years - gained in my 30's slowly - about 15 lbs over what i want to be. i am 5'5", 155 lbs. size 10's are a little snug, size 12's too big. a friend of mine decided to do ww on her own using the point plan program she got from a friend. she is possibly 8 lbs more than me but a good 3 inches taller. her first week she lost 6 lbs, a month later she has dropped a total of 20 lbs. inspired, i followed the ww point plan on my own.... and i weighed myself today... a day early.. and i weigh the same! i havent dropped a lb. i did not cheat at all. i averaged 22 points out of the 25 max a day. i did not exercise. i usually jog/walk 9-12 miles a week, but with the heat and wanting to lose a few lbs to help me with my jog, i was going to add jogging after a week or two (plus after adjusting to less food/calories). i am so discouraged. :(

This is for Denise...
The reasons we don't lose weight are varied. Even though you're eating less points, what are you eating? That counts too.

You need to make sure you're eating healthier and getting exercise, one way or another.

It was only when I added 3 days of cardio to my routine along with WW that I began to shed the pounds.

It also helps tremendously to go to the meetings. I've been going now for 2 years. I go every week even though I've lost my weight and am now on lifetime. The support is great and the tips and motivation help me to stay on track.

Try not to be too discouraged. If you're following the plan, drinking a lot of water, getting your 5 fruits and veggies, eating plenty of fiber and getting exercise, you will lose weight.

thanks. will keep trying and am going to add my exercise. i did eat the right foods (lots of veggies due to summer garden), w.w. entrees, fruit, yogurt, etc. hopefully i will see the scale move in my favor next week. thanks again. i am more determined than ever after seeing some photos from a cookout we had last month.

denise

(update) I stepped on the scale this morning and I lost 3 1/2 lbs! I started exercising (alternating aerobic with weights) and increased my food intake. I think I was not getting enough because I was very hungry so I may have been miscalculating portions. it was wonderful to see the scale move!

Denise

Congratulations, Denise! Perseverance pays. When I started weighing and measuring my food, I saw how much I was eating; it was a good lesson. Portion control is really key to making sure you are eating the right amount of points.
