I admit it. I like wine and I like having a glass of wine with my dinner. But how does that affect my efforts to lose weight? According to the Weight Watchers point system, up to 5 ounces of wine (red or white) is 2 points. I can handle that, if I don't have more than one glass and if I actually measure the amount I pour in my glass.
I just read an article about wine and calories, and which red wine has the least calories. If you like wine, check it out. And, if you're curious, the dryer the wine, the least calories it has. Makes sense.
dry red wine has about half the calories (roughly 500 per bottle) of fortified wines, which can run as high as 1,100 calories per bottle. This makes good sense when you consider that about 85 percent of wine is water; the rest, as far as caloric impact is concerned, is either alcohol or carbohydrates (sugar).

Leave it to you to find an article on drinking and diets! I see nothing wrong with enjoying a glass of wine with dinner - being on a weight loss plan shouldn't prohibit the finer things in life. You just have to save a few points during the day. I'll drink to that!
