I was recently diagnosed with gallstones. The doctor told me that if you have all or most of the 4 "F's" - Female, forty (or more), fertile and fat, you are probably going to have gallstones. Many people have them for years and never develop symptoms. It's only when I started experiencing indigestion, bloating, flatulence and wind, and or pain in the solar plexus (bottom of the sternum) that I decided to get serious about them. My doctor wanted me to see a surgeon, but I wanted to see if I could find an alternative. I found several really interesting websites that all wrote of a liver/gallbladder flush. There were several different kinds involving fasting, eating certain foods and basically cleansing the body after years of abuse.
I chose the one-day flush (hey, it couldn't hurt). (See below for the sites and all the procedures.) I ate only apples for one day. Before bedtime I drank a mixture of olive oil and lemon/grapefruit juice (it tastes like salad dressing!). In the morning I lost over 40 gallstones!! It was really fascinating.
They say a body may have hundreds of gallstones and that the liver has stones as well. I doubt that I've gotten rid of all of mine, so I'm thinking of repeating the process every 3 months or so. All I know is that I do not have the pain anymore and other symptoms have lessened. If it avoids a trip to the operating room, then it's definitely something worth considering.
As with any procedure, please consult your physician before planning a fast or flush.
