How is it that one can work out 2-3 times per week for 4 years and still be totally pathetic when it comes time to do a fitness evaluation???
That's what happened to me today.
I had my fitness evaluation for Backyard Bootcamp which starts on Monday at 6:15 a.m. We heard about the program, got weighed and measured and then came the fitness test...
It started with push-ups...the men's kind, not the way we do them in Pilates. What a joke! We were timed for one minute to see how many we could do. I think Leslie was being kind when she gave me 10. I definitely could not get my nose to the floor without collapsing.
Next were 3 count mountain climbers or something like that. I was dragging my toes when I was supposed to be jumping and switching my feet. I tweaked my right hip flexor and that was the end for me.
Next, 8 count jumping jacks which included a push up. Another joke. I think I did 6.
Finally, we had to do sit ups. I thought I would do alright with these since my core is pretty strong, but again, what I do in Pilates is not the same as an old-fashioned sit up. I managed 22 in one minute.
We are required to keep a detailed food journal for the duration and if we forget to bring it, we're sent home without exercising! And if we're late, our whole group suffers the consequences.
I'll report on the food requirements later. At least I have practice counting and tracking from Weight Watchers.
I'm a little nervous about this adventure...

Oh dear, I can see how you'd feel apprehensive. I know you'll give it your best shot and you won't be late! I've been watching the first season of The Biggest Loser on Style channel and it's quite enlightening. I don't know if I could do what they managed to do. Kudos to all of them and kudos to you!
