I've got some catching up to do. Last week I did not write about Bootcamp Day 5 because I had leave for another type of bootcamp...a marketing bootcamp, from where I've just returned. I missed Day 6 of Backyard Bootcamp because I was at the Attract Clients Like Crazy Bootcamp. Being out of my controlled home environment proved to be a challenge for me when it came to maintaining my food program.
It was nearly impossible for me to maintain a 3 hour eating schedule since we were in our seats from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with short breaks. I brought my breakfast food so that part worked, and I brought almonds for my snacks, but getting the protein, carb, good fat combo for 5 meals just didn't work.
I also reverted to bad habits and ate from the hotel restaurant menu without making special requests. That means I had more fat than I should. I did always order mixed greens with dressing on the side instead of fries (that's a major achievement!), but a turkey avocado sandwich on whole wheat bread turned out to be a grilled cheese with turkey and avocado and since I was 6 colleagues, I didn't feel comfortable making a stink and getting something else. I chose that over a buffet because once glance told me everything was prepared with tons of mayo, butter or was fried, or had a lot of cheese or pasta.
I didn't drink enough water either. And drank too much coffee with half and half. I just have to stay in my protected cocoon in order to stick to any type of structured eating plan. I like food too much and want to try all the tasty, gourmet, high fat stuff. Oh yeah, I had a couple of glasses of wine at a networking event. I know Leslie may read this and she's going to see my journal on Monday, so I figure I better just get it out now!
Well, I'm home now and back on track. As they say in WW, if you go off the plan one day, just get right back on the next day. And that's what I'm doing.
P.S. Yes, that's me in the photo doing some crawl thing where you can only use your arms to pull your body through...no legs!
