I know. The silence has been deafening. No updates for 2 weeks.
I have been going to Weight Watchers, but I didn't weigh in last week -- I knew I had gained and I was in denial -- didn't want to see it on the scale or in my book.
I did weigh in today and I'm holding steady. No weight loss. I'm not surprised because I've been "off the WW wagon" the last couple of weeks. Eating out of stress and emotion. Not tracking my points.
I have continued to work out and have even increased my runs from 2 to 3 per week so I'm getting 5 days of exercise in.
This week I'm traveling for 6 days. I am bringing oatmeal with me so I'm not tempted to go out for breakfast every morning. I'm also bringing some portion control 100 calorie treats that will help me avoid splurging on a candy bar at the airport or a cookie with a cup of coffee.
My work out clothes are coming with me too. I'm going to be on a private island that is 2 miles long. Sounds the a good out and back run to keep me burning some calories.
How about some tips from you for managing weight loss and travel? What works for you when you're away from home and eating out ever meal?

A friend of mine is suggesting I use Flavor Magic Portion Control Sheets, which she describes as basically a portioning guide that also seasons the food. Kind of like the “palm of hand” rule, but more accurate. Does anyone have input on this one? She claims it is working for her with home cooking. I want to give it a shot but it looks like it is only available online.

Discipline the key in effective weight loss programs. Also it help you when you're traveling to have some handy stock of food that are included in your diet. Though it may be a little hassle for you but having your own food right in your luggage would be so much helpful.

I find with my clients that when working away from home it's the amount of water consumed that takes a nose dive, the result being the body holds onto more water, weight stays the same, or even increases and gives a false impression of what has really occurred that week.
So my advice would be to keep drinking plenty of water, aiming for at least 2 litres per day.
