OK, I did it. Along with a couple of friends, I've joined the Biggest Loser Club. It's actually a pretty good deal - $39 for a 3 month membership including 3 popular Biggest Loser books. All I've got to lose is weight!
My new digital scale arrived today and the number was worse than I had thought it would be. Yet, I've worked out the last 7 days in a row: gym (treadmill), hike - Hollywood Hills, Pilates, 6.3 mile run, gym, gym, gym. Just goes to show that it's not as much about the exercise as it is about reducing food consumption. Not that I haven't known that all along. My calorie target is 1,200 - 1,400 per day.
You get customized meal plans and shopping lists, customized fitness plan, discussion forums and you can create buddy groups and set up your own challenges which are tracked online. There's also a mobile site so you can take your plan and tracking with you.
Good thing they provide meal swap suggestions because cottage cheese and pineapple is NOT on my list of foods I want to eat!
Friday, January 7 is day one for me. I've got three months and 28 pounds to lose. I've done it before with Weight Watchers (33 lbs in 7 months) so there's no reason I cannot do it again. It's a matter of discipline (my word for the year for my business) and focus. I don't expect to lose 28 lbs in 3 months, however I will be well on my way... wish me luck!

Hi Denise, I want to support you in your weight loss endeavors! I suggest you wear a heart rate monitor during your workouts that counts calories burned. If you are training as much as the plan suggests, your energy intake will be too low and you will not lose fat. You must replace the calories you burn so that your total for the day is within your target range. Best of luck! Keep us posted:)
